I was able to walk in and get an appointment the same day. Also the doctor really showed personal interest as well as expertise in my multiple foot conditions. The prescription that he recommended seems to be a good option. I await the results and hope for the best!

I went to Feet For Life for a free consultation because my bunion was so painful; I was forced to wear only house shoes. Dr. Michael Horwitz, DPM recommended a procedure called exostectomy or bunionectomy. I was under a time restriction and needed to have the surgery as soon as possible. Dr. Horwitz was willing to adjust his schedule in order meet my needs. Not many doctors will do that! The staff at Feet For Life Podiatry on Delmar Blvd. made me feel like they genuinely cared about me. My recovery is going great. I recommend going to Feet For Life, especially if you are in any pain. Love Feet For Life & Dr. Vince Staschiak! He listens to your issues & has been the only one who helped me with my feet problems. Since I was a teenager, I've had problems with ingrown toenails. It may sound like a minor thing, and there are certainly worse afflictions in life, but like many people, I thought it was something I simply had to endure, and sometimes it was very painful. Approximately three years ago, I went to see Dr. Horwitz, and I told him about my situation. He explained to me that there's a simple procedure that he can do that will alleviate my problems. I asked him how frequently he would need to do this procedure, thinking it would be once every few months, which appealed to me. He said that in most cases it was a one and done kind of thing. Even better - much better, in fact! So I went ahead and did it. Truly it was a minor procedure in terms of invasiveness, but the effects? I can't even begin to describe it. It's been, as I mentioned, about three years and absolutely no issues. My only regret is that I didn't find out about this sooner. For years, I thought I had to deal with something that Dr. Horwitz handled quickly and efficiently, and most importantly, permanently. Lastly, when it comes to bedside manner, for lack of a better term, you won't find a better guy. He's friendly, easy to get along with, yet knowledgable and professional. I highly recommend consulting with Dr. Horwitz about any issues with regard to your feet! He will always have my vote of confidence.

If you are conflicted in any way about what your present podiatrist or orthopedic surgeon is saying about getting a fusion, please have a consultation with Dr. Horwitz. I had been to exactly five doctors and the last three all recommended getting a fusion which I felt in my gut not to have. I live in Virginia and Dr. Horwitz (who is in St. Louis) did an excellent video consultation and he empowered me with enough information to go back to my Doctors with and they agreed on what my alternative to a fusion should be. I have had an amazing experience with Dr Staschiak and his team. I have always heard horror stories about bunion surgery. But, I knew I needed to take care of them. I was directed to him by a client of mine that had been misdiagnosed 7 times by our local podiatrist. Another client of mine went to him when a local podiatrist wanted to amputate his toe because of pain he was having. Dr Staschiak did surgery on him and he is pain free and still has all 10 toes!! We live 3 hours away from St. Louis. But as I have found out...it is well worth the drive. I had my right bunion removed on January 3. I have had very little pain. Uncomfortable yes...but I can definitely handle that. Just follow his directions and you will have great success!

I came in for a second opinion about foot surgery for a Neuroma. My internet research led me to Dr. Horwitz as a less invasive and more effective surgery alternative. After consultation I felt more confident in Dr. Horwitz to perform the surgery and with his methods. Throughout the surgery process I was extraordinarily impressed with the thoroughness, discipline, and expertise of each member of his staff. They were personable yet detailed and serious in their roles. This instilled confidence in me and made me more comfortable with the procedure. Dr. Horwitz’s approach to the surgery and method made good sense to limit invasiveness yet ensure effectiveness. While I expect outcomes can vary depending on a person’s physiology, in my case the outcome was precisely as I was told. I was apprehensive about having the surgery but to date I am glad I chose to have it and feel fortunate that I found Dr. Horwitz in seeking a second opinion. Highly recommend Feet for Life Podiatry! I was experiencing severe heel pain and they were able to schedule an appointment right away. The receptionist and medical assistants are professional and courteous. Dr. Horowitz took time to listen to my issue and quickly diagnosed plantar fasciitis. Personally, I get extremely nervous regarding surgeries and anesthesia. Don't like it at all! For some reason I am much more relaxed at this facility than a hospital or other outpatient facility. Even though they are busy, I don't feel like they are rushing people thru or have a bunch of patients stacked up. It appears they have a great process in place and the personnel work well together. It's great to have so much continuity with the staff between the two facilities. Nice to know if there is an issue after hours, someone will respond plus f/u post surgery is exceptional.

5 Stars for Feet For Life Podiatry! Dr. Shah is amazing. I was extremely nervous to have bunion correction on my right foot. Dr. Shah took the time to explain everything. The easy out Bunion Procedure combines a small incision and removable hardware, leaving no metal in the body. Very little pain after! I am so happy with the results. After having 7 Cryosurgeries for neuromas in NYC, I was shocked to find a doctor in St Louis that also did it. [NYC is one of the only places that do this newer procedure.] Dr. Shah is incredibly knowledgeable with neuromas. She was attentive to my unique drug allergies, studied up on them personally to confirm she was educated on any issues that may arise, and did the Cryosurgery along with an additional recommendation so that I didn't need to have this surgery again and again every 3 years. I love Dr. Horowitz! I researched him before I had my bunion surgeries on both feet and found him to be one of the best around. I had the surgeries three weeks apart, and I am now ready for the stitches to be taken out on the 2nd foot. I can’t say enough good things about him or his staff at both facilities. When I walked it felt has if there were a stone under the joint of the foot where it meets the 2nd toe and the toe was starting to cross over the big toe. Physical therapy helped with the swelling a bit but the pain was still there. Dr. Horwitz recommended a surgical procedure to remedy both problems. I came in with an extreme case of plantar warts on my feet as well as plantar fasciitis on my right foot. Dr. Horwitz recognized right away that traditional in office treatment for the warts wasn't going to work. He treated my plantar fasciitis in one surgery one the same foot. I would recommend him to anyone going through both of these issues. I haven't been able to walk comfortably without pain for over 2.5 years. After surgery a month ago, I can now walk pain free. Recommended by a friend who successfully went through Dr. Horwitz' bunion surgery, after meeting with Dr Horwitz I decided to have both feet go through the bunion surgery. Couldn't be more pleased with my results. Everyone is different but 3 weeks after my surgery I was back into loose fitting tennis shoes. My second foot was 6 weeks after my first. after years of pain in my feet, most likely due to running (disclaimer I'm young and healthy) i received special footwear with padding which decreased my pain significantly in just a few weeks. I have dealt with this pain for years, got custom orthotics (from someone else), and even seen physical therapy for this to no avail. Dr. Horwitz cleared up my pain in just 4 weeks. Better yet, I have began running once again.

I fractured my fourth toe and it telescoped. I had the toe pinned, and went ahead and had the bone in my big toe worked on while I was under. Dr. Horwitz treated me for Plantar fasciitis with sound waves. It was a relatively easy recovery... a bit painful for about a week. While I would say it took about 9-10 months to be absolutely pain free, but pain from one month out to that final result was typically only after being on my feet for a long time. It has been at least seven years since that procedure and I continue to be pain free!

I went to see Dr. Horwitz after seeing a part of the segment on TV. I thought a free work up for foot pain, great. I was there for bilateral foot and ankle pain. He was confused by why I was there because it was a "bunion clinic" offer for a free work up. He listened to me and was willing to treat me right then even though I was not there for a bunion. He gave me 100% of his attention despite my mistake. He helped me and made feel important.

My first experience with Dr. Horwitz was almost 20 years ago for a bunionectomy. At the time, Dr. Horwitz said to follow some instructions and I'd probably not need to see him for another 20 years. Almost to the year I had problems with the other foot, but with cutting edge technology, I had no cast or pin and am back in loose shoes in 6 weeks.
